Iolanda Maciel Fontaínhas is a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho and the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. She has a PhD in Sociology since 2023 from the University of Minho. Her research interests centre on analysing the affective and sexual dynamics of heterosexual couples, especially with regard to the intersection between sexuality, gender and power relations. More recently, she has started working on pedagogical practices and social research methodologies. She collaborates with civil society organisations that aim to act preventively against all forms of discrimination and sexual and gender-based violence.
