Sara Falcão Casaca

Sara Falcão Casaca is Associate Professor at Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, University of Lisbon (ISEG-ULisboa) and researcher at Centro de Investigação em Sociologia Económica e das Organizações (SOCIUS-CSG), where she coordinates the research line in Labor, Employment, Gender and Organizations. Her investigation, fundamentally related with Sociology of Work and Gender Relations, has been focused on some main topics: labour and work time flexibility; gender inequalities on work; gender, lidership and decision-making on economic sphere and articulation between work and family. She's also Professor on Universidade Aberta, with participation on the Master Degree on Women Studies. Sara Casaca coordinated the Research Network - Gender Relations in the Labour Market and the Welfare State, of European Sociological Association (ESA), between 2005 and 2010. Besides that, she integrated the group of high level in Mainstreaming of Gender in EU, the board of European institute for Gender Equality (EIGE - Vilnius - European Union agency) and the Social and Economics Council (CES) in 2010. She was President of CIG - Comissão para a Cidadania e Igualdade de Género (presidency of Ministers Council) in 2010. She recently coordinated the project "Igualdade de Género nas Empresas" (Program PT07 Integration of Gender Equality and Promotion of the balance on Work and private life /EEA Grants).

She also take part of the management committee of Cost Action IS1409: Gender and Health impacts of Policies Extending Working Life in Western Countries, and of Scientific Committee of RN14 - Research Network in Gender Relation in the Labour Market and the Welfare State, da ESA - European Sociological Association. She integrates the Tecnical-Scientific Group of Advisory Board of CIG - Comissão para a Cidadania e Igualdade de Género, as an expert in women rights, gender equality and citizenship. Sara Falcão Casaca collaborates with OIT (Organização Internacional do Trabalho/International Labour Organization); with Centro Internacional de Formação, in the areas of Gender and Organizational Changing. She has been collaborating as an expert in Gender Equality with the official mechanisms for Equality and national agencies, european and international.
