BIO

Sofia Neves has a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Minho (2005), and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the same institution (1999). She is an Associate Professor at the University of Maia (UMaia), a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies (CIEG-ISCSP/ULisboa), and President of the Directorate of the Plano i Association. Her research areas, in which she has been coordinating several scientific projects, are domestic and gender-based violence, and discrimination and violence based on sexual orientation and identity and/or gender expression. Until 2026, she is the researcher responsible for the Portuguese team of the Uni4Equity Project - Strengthening universities' response to sexual harassment with an equity approach, funded by the European Commission.
