BIO

Sociologist, researcher, environmentalist, feminist and bicycle user. 

Graduated from Universidade do Minho in 2006, has concluded in 2010 the Masters in Risks, Cities and Land Planning in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, where she achieved her Doctoral degree on Sociology, in 2017.

Her professional path begun in social economy organizations, firstly in Portugal and then in Turkey. In 2009/2010 she became a lecturer in the School of Higher Education of the Polythecnic Institute of Porto, in the fields of Sociology of Organizations and Social Economy Organizations Management. She continues in that institution, where besides the mentioned fields she has guided internships of the Licenciate's degree in Social Education and projects of the Masters in Education - Specialization in Educational Organizations Administraton.

She has participated in research in areas such as controled price housing and the movement of inhabitants of Porto; processes and contexts of social exclusion, particularly the connections between sex work and the use of drugs; social economy; social innovation and social entrepeneurship; social work and the socioprofessional identity construction of social workers; student integration in Higher Education; the experience of school directors in the ten years of aplication of the current school management model.

Currently, she has started a research about the uses of bicycles in urban contexts and their relations with diferenciated lifestyles, either in an anti-capitalistic, anti-mechanization and environmentalist tendency, or in a reformist perspective of capitalism, related with sports practices and healthy habits.
